Resource description

Within an overall focus on media literacy, the present report examines the internet literacy of children and young people aged 9-19, based on the UKCGO survey findings. We examine the relations among the three main dimensions of media or internet literacy (access, understanding and creation), showing how developing online expertise increases online opportunities and, it turns out, also increases online risks. We also ask what difference parental regulation of children’s internet use makes, revealing a more complex picture than often assumed.
