Resource description

This collection of 13 original essays will examine the interconnections between Marxism and Anarchism over the past 150 years. The work takes a contextualist approach to the ideas of individuals, groups and political movements who have negotiated the complex politics the left. Chapters on the turn of the century Durham labour unions, the New Left in Australasia, Gramsci, Sorel, Castoriadis and many others, all feature in this unique collection. This work will, we hope, chart a new course for left history and offer grounds for thinking through the politics of reconciliation and cooperation on the left.
