Resource description

China’s one-child policy has helped bring about individualism that is even stronger than in the west, says Jesse Price, founding partner of the Reya Group, which specialises in organisational culture.

Although the west often views China as a collectivist society, his company’s research suggests there is “very strong individualism” in China’s society, which could be due to China’s economic ascendance, its national population policy, and the ensuing changes in China’s social fabric, says Price, who has been in China for over a decade.
