Resource description

We report internal and external challenges and opportunities faced by the Egmont Foundation that concern new Danish corporate social responsibility legislation while the Foundation seeks to improve communication regarding its philanthropic activities. The paper presents a case study of fiscal data, open-ended interviews, and contextual analysis of legal structures that govern Danish commercial foundations. Extended Foundational Corporate Citizenship is a proposed communications strategy developed in response to the inherent tension between a commercial foundation’s business and philanthropic units, and is designed to aid identification of strategic advantages. The commercial foundation structure coupled with EFCC model deployment appears theoretically and strategically ahead of the recent Danish legislative reporting obligations.
