Resource description

In broad terms we want to identify the initiatives that drive business model transformation andstudy their effect on performance. We also presume that such initiatives are primarilyinfluencing the context-specific skills and priorities of the organization. Transformationinitiatives leading to organizational and technological change are presumably constrained byresident capabilities (Hartmann et al.,2002, Håkansson & Waluszewski, 2002), the focus andstate of the current operations (Subramanian & Shaw, 2002), hence they indirectly influenceperformance26. There are potentially additional environmental contingencies affecting thosesame domain-specific factors, of which we will investigate industry membership, region, andcompany size (Ford et al. 1997). Finally, we will explore whether different actors or leaders inchargeof such technology-oriented and organizational transformations have differences ofopinion on the priorities of the firm (Håkansson & Waluszewski, 2002).
