Resource description

Today's management education methods were developed in response to the stable and predictable business environment of the 1960's, 1970's and early 1980's. The new model of business world is turbulent and characterised by unpredictability, uncertainty, flexible structures and information overload. In this paper we propose a model for the next generation of learning tools - the Business Navigator Method. This model projects managers into virtual business environment. A highly interactive and realistic environment in which he/she will experience the difficulties of thinking, moving, understanding and acting in the diverse, socially complex, information and knowledge- intensive, competitive and cooperative reality of today's business. This paper provides insights into the pedagogical objectives underlaying the Business Navigator Method, the evolutionary approach we are taking to implement this vision and the lessons learned from our experience to date
