Resource description

The ongoing debates regarding the role of business in society do little to address the role of managers as social change agents. The authors provide a definition of socially responsible behavior (SRB) and propose a model of the psychological antecedents, specifically cognition, values, and emotions, that are believed to prime this behavior. The model is dynamic as it demonstrates the evolution of SRB through feedback within the organizational context. Implications for research and practice are drawn.
